THE ARRIDIA™ GROUP

how we arrived at our name

The name Arridia (pronounced Ah-RIH-dee-ah) represents one of the many things we love about our industry: the magic of arriving on that very first shoot day together. Our team has become known across the globe for always working with a thoughtful blend of logistics and hospitality. In the same way, our name blends the words arrive and dia (which means “day” in Latin) to represent the excitement of arriving on set together for the day, or days, during which

we promise to make you look good.

1) seize the dia

When exploring names, we wanted to find a way to speak to what’s important to us: hospitality, an ever-present welcoming feeling, awareness and attention to detail, maintaining a calming presence in a flurry of activity, to name a few. The thinking behind presence and awareness, especially, brought us to the phrase “Carpe diem” — literally, “Seize the day.” We mulled over diem and day and landed on “dia,” which happens to be another iteration of the word day.

Dating to ancient Greek texts, “Carpe diem” speaks to what we try to do at each and every shoot: make the most of our time together. It’s the reason why we love what we do, and why we’re excited to arrive on set, day after day.

2) you’ve arrived

Speaking of arriving, that’s where the “Arri” in Arridia™ comes from. In our books, arriving is everything: the excitement of what’s to come, the execution of something creative, the moment we’ve all been waiting for. Long before our first shoot day, we work diligently so that you can arrive worry-free. Your arrival is so important to us, we’ve staked our name on it.

3) ‘group’ mentality

At Arridia™, we exist as a “we” — a collective of production people that are proud to work to bring your ideas to life. We are a “Group” in the truest sense of the term: a collective, a team, a community. On set and virtually everywhere else, we strive to create a place that people not only enjoy (and feel safe) arriving to, but feel empowered to exist in: as humans, as partners, as nontraditional representation, as creatives, as professionals.
